The Union of Municipalities was established on May 19, 2008, by an agreement signed by the Mayors of the Municipalities of Domus de Maria, Pula, Teulada, and Villa San Pietro.

Domus de Maria

Domus de Maria was likely founded in 1730, when the Scolopian Fathers arrived to protect the people of Bithia from pirate raids.

The Municipality of Pula lies about 40 km from the city of Cagliari, on the southwestern coast of Sardinia. Despite its growing popularity as a tourist destination, the village has managed to preserve its characteristic historical centre almost intact.

Teulada is a seaside village located on the southwestern coast of the island. Teulada was founded in the 1600s and developed significantly by the noble Sanjust family.

Villa San Pietro

The village of Villa San Pietro, Santu Perdu in the Sardinian language, was founded in the Middle Ages, around the year 1000. At that time, it was part of the administrative district of Nora, in the Giudicato (Kingdom) of Cagliari, and later of the administrative district of Capoterra.
