Pinus Village

Pula

Pinus Village is a seaside village of holiday homes located in the southwestern end of Santa Margherita di Pula, on the island's southern coast.

A few hundred small villas grace the slopes of a small granite hill, about 100 metres above sea level.

Like all the best tourist villages, Pinus Village also features tree-lined avenues that connect the various houses, all immersed in an extensive pine forest. Its straight beach, 150 metres long and about 10 metres wide, has fine light grey sand and crystal-clear water.

The seabed is shallow and suitable for scuba diving and snorkelling. From the pine forest of Pinus Village, the best-preserved stretch of an ancient Roman road, called 'A Karalibus-Bithia', which connected two of the most important Sardinian coastal towns of the Roman enables visitors to walk to the beach of Su Portu.

The well-worked granite and basalt stone blocks that made up the roadbed are still visible. Along the three kilometres of this path, the view over the entire coastline keeps alternating between low coastline and high, pinkish-coloured granite cliffs. Characteristic Mediterranean scrub flora such as juniper, cistus, myrtle, and mastic trees provide fragrances and additional harmonies of colour to walkers.
