In the municipality of Sarroch, about 30 km west of Cagliari, is the beach of Perd'e Sali.
Its sandy shore often collects pebbles of stones polished by the sea and broken shells. It is about 300 metres long by 10 metres wide and is well sheltered from the north westerly mistral. The seabed is shallow and formed of rocks and pebbles, with the water fading from green to blue.
The southern end of the beach is named after the hamlet behind it, Porto Columbu. In fact, behind this coastline are several hundred houses inhabited all year round, as well as bed & breakfasts, farmhouses, bars, restaurants and a pharmacy.
The locality boasts a new marina, Marina di Perd'e Sali, where as many as 300 small and medium-sized boats can be moored, and there are rental facilities for motorboats and canoe-kayaks.
The bay is an ideal spot for underwater fishing, angling and diving, but the beach of Perd'e Sali can get very crowded in high season. The nearby pond, surrounded by a vast pine forest, is home to several species of avifauna. Finally, the beach is not far from the archaeological site of Nora, the town of Pula, and many other tourist settlements.
