Cala Cipolla

Domus de Maria

On the southwestern coast of Sardinia, a short distance from Capo Spartivento, is Cala Cipolla.

Part of a larger system of beaches in Chia, a famed destination in the hamlet of Domus de Maria.

Cala Cipolla is a sheltered, horseshoe-shaped inlet between the mountains and coast, featuring stunning white and pink granite rocks sculpted by the wind.

As a natural frame and backdrop, very rich and varied Mediterranean flora, composed mainly of maritime pine, juniper, cistus, mastic and myrtle, not only provides a display of variegated shades of green, but also a flow of intense fragrances that make your stay at the site even more unforgettable.

The sand has an exceptionally fine texture, with a golden hue that can be admired both on the shore and on the seabed, as the water is as clear as can be.

The sea shimmers with shades of blue and emerald green, and its shallow shoreline makes this beach very safe and suitable even for small children. Diving and underwater fishing enthusiasts will love the clarity of the seabed and the abundance of fish.

Completing this enchanting spectacle of nature is the large colony of pink flamingos in the nearby pond, complementing other typical Mediterranean bird species like seagulls.
