Nestled in the southern coast of Sardinia, Torre del Budello is a small beach (130 metres x 15 metres) also known by the name Su Portu de S'arena (“The Sandy Port” in Sardinian).
The sand is amber white in colour with small pebbles polished by the sea. The colour of the water is turquoise tending to emerald green, with a shallow sandy seabed.
Marina di Teulada, with its hiring services for small and medium-sized boats and dinghies, is only 200 metres away.
Following the outline of a low granite cliff, visitors can spot the Torre del Budello, which gave its name to the beach.
This is a former military structure, about 12 metres high, built in the early 1600s to watch over and defend the entire bay of Teulada, and the inlet with the landing place and the river mouth in particular. The beach is not very crowded during the summer months and currently has no beach services.
Access mode
It is easily accessible from the road and there is a free parking area a few metres from the beach. Thick Mediterranean scrub vegetation, especially olive trees, mastic trees and junipers, form the inland backdrop to the beach.
