Beach of Campu Matta

Pula

The beach of Campu Matta is located in the municipality of Pula, in southern Sardinia, in the coastline of Santa Margherita.

Positioned between the beaches Flumendosa (northeast) and Cala d'Ostia to the south-west, it is one of the largest beaches in the area: it is so spacious (700 metres long and 30 metres wide) that it feels welcoming even in the busiest months.

Made up of fine golden sand, the beach boasts clear, shallow water with colours ranging from turquoise to emerald, which make it suitable for families with children. It is not sheltered from the winds, especially the mistral, and is therefore particularly recommended for those who enjoy water sports such as windsurfing or kitesurfing, but also for scuba divers.

Adjacent to the beach lies a large pond that serves as a habitat for several species of local birds, among which the pink flamingos are particularly noteworthy.

Access mode

To reach Campu Matta from Cagliari, drive along the SS 195 heading towards Santa Margherita, and once you reach the small church of the same name, turn left. There is a large car park with an attached camper van area by the promenade called Via Flumendosa. The beach is also easily accessible for people with disabilities.

Available services

In this beach you will find a campsite and facilities such as beach kiosk, restaurant, and sunbed and umbrella rentals.
