Villa San Pietro, tomba di giganti di Perda Accuzzai. Interno della tomba

The Union of the Municipalities Nora-Bithia is an area blessed with a concentration of natural, historical and archaeological beauty. In addition to the Punic-Roman site of Nora in the territory of Pula, archaeology lovers should explore the remains of the unique Nuraghi civilisation - the most emblematic culture of ancient Sardinia.

The nuraghi route allows you not only to learn more about the mysterious pre-historic buildings, but also to enjoy vast and fascinating views of the surrounding territories from the spot where they stand.

The first nuraghe on this route is located to the northeast of the town of Sarroch and is known by the name of Antigori. Further south is the nuraghe Sa Domu 'e S'Orcu, which boasts two towers of different heights joined by a rectilinear open courtyard.

Closer to the town of Villa San Pietro stands the Mereu nuraghe, a veritable archaeological complex consisting of a central tower and four other smaller perimeter towers joined by a straight-curved wall.

Following the trail down the valley, another pre-historic monument: the tomb of the giants of Perda 'e Acutzai, with a preserved corridor of about 1.50 metres in height which is currently uncovered. Proceeding to the north-west, there are more tombs of the giants (Su Lilloni) set within the Gutturu Mannu state forest.

The final stop on this trail is the Baccu Idda nuraghe at Domus de Maria. This is a complex nuraghe, consisting of a central tower with an almost intact chamber and four perimeter towers.
