One of the best-known and most popular beaches in the area, Tuerredda is located in the centre of the Golfo di Teulada, between Capo Malfatano and Capo Spartivento.
The beach has a peculiar 'seagull-wing' shape, created by a small strip of white sand at its centre. The shore shines with fine white sand and the water is always crystal clear, sheltered from the wind and sparkling with all shades of blue.
A short swim from the shoreline, a large islet called the 'island of Tuerredda', covered by thick, low Mediterranean scrub, dominates the bay.
The island is uninhabited today, but numerous ceramic fragments reveal human presence in Punic times (5th century BC). The area is a favourite of divers and snorkelers, attracted by its rich in marine life. Scented Mediterranean scrub, mostly pine trees and junipers, cover the sandy area behind the beach.
Available services
This popular beach is fully equipped with beach clubs, beach bars, canoe and pedalo hire, ample parking for campers, and bars and restaurants nearby. This is a great starting point for boat trips to other beaches in the area.
